As an ultra powerful bifidusfactor, Longlive xylo-oligosaccharides may be selectively utilized by bifidobacterium in body as zymolyte. As xylo-oligosaccharides can hardly be absorbed in body, it can basically be utilized by bifidobacterium completely. The effect of its bifidobacterium proliferation is 10-20 times of other oligosaccharides. Other oligosaccharides will be partially absorbed in body before reaching small intestine. Bifidobacterium is an anaerobic Gram positive bacillus separated from excrement of breast fed infants by French scholar Tissier in 1899, and is named as bifidobacterium because its extremity separates frequently. Bifidobacterium has the following treatment effects: 1. Maintaining balance of normal bacterium flora in intestine, inhibiting growth of pathogenic bacterium, and preventing constipation, diarrhea and gastrointestinal disorder; 2. Resisting tumor; 3. Compounding vitamins and amino acids in intestine and improving body absorption of calcium ions; 4. Lowering blood cholesterol and preventing hypertension; 5. Improving lactose resistance of dairy products and digestibility; 6. Enhancing body immunity, preventing side effect of antibiotics, resisting aging and lengthening human life. Gastrointestinal bifidobacterium reduces with ages, and the most bifidobacterium is distributed in bodies of breast fed infants. At present, it is found that there are 32 sub-bifidobacterium and over 70 preparations containing bifidobacterium. Therefore, adults should properly supplement bifidobacterium. Bifidobacterium is an anaerobic bacteria which can hardly live outside of bodies, so it is the only way to promote its proliferation in bodies by bifidusfactor, and xylo-oligosaccharides is the best bifidusfactor that promotes bifidobacterium growth as known currently.
